Club Events Coming Up in 2010:

All meetings are to be held at the Kings Head in East Hoathly (postcode BN8 6DR). Meetings start at 8:00pm.

12^th March   - The speaker for the march meeting will be Peter Stanier who will be giving an illustrated talk on his involvement with all aspects of vintage preservation. As well as featuring his traction engines he will also be talking about the fascinating collection of buses and lorry’s that have passed through his hands.

 

9^th April  -  John Newton Part one of 'The Newton Story A lifetime in steam'.

Celebration of Steam

Saturday 8th – Sunday 9th May 2010

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard

 

Compare 150 years of steam technology from the launch of the sail and steam powered warship, HMS Warrior 1860, to a special appearance of the 2009 land speed record breaking British Steam Car.

The wonderful world of steam, both modern and old, will be bought to life with displays of traction engines and road locomotives at work, steam wagons, boats, model railways and a host of Victorian dock characters.
